My name is Serena. My parents are Lynda and Donald and I would like to say that I came from a very happy and together household but, honestly, that would be lying and I am not about that here. When my parents were together I had an older sister but she passed the day that she was born so that was unfortunate, she would have been a little bit older than me. I do have an older brother and and older sister from different dads with my mom so, on my moms side I have lots of family and support. As for the sperm donors side? It is just me and my aunt. Growing up was rough and I’ll get into that in actual blog posts eventually.
I graduated from Jefferson Senior High School in Alexandria MN in 2012 and decided to go to the University of Minnesota-Crookston and study Animal Science with an emphasis in Pre-Veterinary Medicine with Chemistry & Biology minors! FUN FACT: I was 3 credits short of getting a major degree in biology…win some and lose some I guess.. The end goal was Veterinary school…and it still is but plans changed after graduation, you’ll see why here soon. I graduated with the for-mentioned degrees in May of 2016 and started working various jobs here and there.
The biggest and most signficant job that I had post graduation was a Veterinary Assistant Position in Grand Forks, ND. Unfortunately, that job ended up ending because of ownership changing and I ended up going to a friends garage party in December 2017 where I met my now Fiance Loren. From this point until around some point in 2021 I was living with friends and back home while working jobs here or there figuring out what I wanted. In 2021 we ended up having an apartment in Crookston and I obtained my EMT certification and started working at the local ambulance service. Loren was working at our local jail and trying to get into law enforcement. His dream came true at the end of 2021 where he landed the job he wanted and we found a home we moved into. in Jan 2022 I decided to enroll into Paramedic school at Northland Technical School and Graduated with me Paramedicine Certificate in December 2022 and have been working as a EMT-P since at the same place was an EMT.
Life has change a lot in the last couple of years! We have welcome our first daughter baby #1 in May 2023 and then welcomed another daughter baby #2 in June 2024. Those are also stories for another day! Last year we went to Aruba a Carribean Island where we came back ENGAGED on Feb. 20 2025 <3. Wedding is set for Sept 24, 2027. Now recently my dad has passed away after a pretty significant illness on March 19, 2026……..
My life has been one series of battles and twists and turns, but it is honestly beautiful. I absolutely love my life. Through all the battles and the wounds and the scars and hurts. I would not change a single thing that I have gone through because it is gotten be here to who I am today.
I’m not broken. I am not unfixable. I am not unlovable. I am not unsavable.
I AM IMPORTANT!!! I AM NEEDED!!
